When it’s time for coffee with a friend or a dinner date, or even a visit to the lake, you don't have to leave your tail-wagging friends back at home! Lubbock is becoming more and more dog friendly, with a number of locations allowing our furry friends, at least in their outdoor areas. Kudos to those places letting us dog-lovers enjoy great food and a drink while continuing to hang with our social pups.
Check out the list below to find some of the best eateries in town that welcome your fur-baby (though likely just on the patio). Following the list of restaurants is a list of other dog-friendly spots in the 806!
Before venturing out, you may want to call ahead and confirm what each specific location allows, such as only on the patio or if they have special ‘dog’ days.
Don’t forget that hot pavement will burn a dog’s paws. In fact, dog paws can be just as sensitive as human feet and burn easily! So, stay in the shade or walk on the grass in hot weather. You may want to try dog shoes or buy some Paw Wax (yes, it’s a real product!) for your dog’s feet. If you are going somewhere that water won’t be provided, then bring a water bottle and a travel bowl with you to refresh your pup.
If YOUR place of business welcomes the fidos of West Texas, comment below to add your name to the list! It’s exciting to see this list of pet-friendly locales growing. And just a hint—welcoming customers that ‘woof’ is good for business.
